Ce qui d\u00e9finit les L\u00e9viathans de Hobbes, ce sont les unit\u00e9s qui les composent (les humains) ainsi que les interactions entre elles.<\/p><p>Initialement con\u00e7ue comme installation robotique o\u00f9 des traceurs inscrivent les traces sur une toile, l\u2019\u0153uvre L\u00e9viathan a \u00e9t\u00e9 adapt\u00e9e pour une diffusion en ligne, sous forme de site web interactif o\u00f9 le visiteur est appel\u00e9 \u00e0 y laisser l\u2019empreinte de son passage. Les donn\u00e9es capt\u00e9es par la cam\u00e9ra de l\u2019ordinateur \u2013 mouvements du visage, date et dur\u00e9e de pr\u00e9sence \u2013 servent \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de trac\u00e9s offrant une topologie des interactions qui y ont lieu collectivement. Aucune autre donn\u00e9e n\u2019est conserv\u00e9e, laissant ainsi seulement ce qui compose le L\u00e9viathan de Paolo Almario : des tableaux virtuels de lignes et de points r\u00e9sultant de l\u2019interaction du public avec les syst\u00e8mes de captation num\u00e9riques. Pour cette version web, les tableaux issus de la captation de donn\u00e9es seront r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement arr\u00eat\u00e9s dans le temps et archiv\u00e9s dans la galerie virtuelle du site web.<br \/>Participez au L\u00e9viathan de Paolo Almario en y inscrivant vos traces.<\/p><p>Activez la cam\u00e9ra de votre ordinateur et laissez-la vous suivre en captant les mouvements de votre visage, composant ainsi en temps r\u00e9el les trac\u00e9s d\u2019interactions multiples qui se superposent et s\u2019amalgament dans une carte virtuelle et collective.<\/p><p>Avec L\u00e9viathan, dans ce contexte de pand\u00e9mie o\u00f9 la communication virtuelle alimente \u00e0 l\u2019infini d\u2019immenses bases de donn\u00e9es, Paolo Almario invite \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 quelques enjeux du cyberespace actuel : la surveillance, la vie priv\u00e9e, le big-data et l\u2019omnipotence des r\u00e9seaux\u2026<\/p><p>\u00abLes principaux corps politiques, les \u00c9tats, sont des compositions d\u2019unit\u00e9s individuelles. d\u2019origine colombienne \u00e9tabli \u00e0 Chicoutimi depuis 2011. Il d\u00e9bute sa carri\u00e8re en 2014 avec des projets li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019impact que le conflit de la Colombie a eu sur sa famille. Les r\u00e9percussions de son engagement artistique l\u2019ont men\u00e9 \u00e0 demander la protection du Gouvernement Canadien o\u00f9 il a le statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9 depuis 2015.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Il a re\u00e7u une formation de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Dise\u00f1o de l\u2019Universidad Los Andes (Bogota, Colombie). En 2014, Il compl\u00e8te une ma\u00eetrise en arts de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Chicoutimi (UQAC). Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenu \u00e0 plusieurs reprises par le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec (CALQ) et le Conseil des arts du Canada. En 2018, il re\u00e7oit la distinction Prix du CALQ \u2013 Cr\u00e9ateur de l\u2019ann\u00e9e au Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. Ses \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9es au Canada, en Colombie, en Italie, en Belgique et en France.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Dans sa pratique, Paolo Almario utilise des technologies num\u00e9riques pour collecter, analyser, codifier, traiter et transformer des \u00e9chantillons de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sous une pluralit\u00e9 de formes artistiques.
