L\u2019exp\u00e9rience propose une incursion \u00e0 travers les connexions de la mati\u00e8re blanche du cerveau. On se d\u00e9place dans un univers myst\u00e9rieux. Un labyrinthe de faisceaux de fibres nous englobe comme une for\u00eat \u00e0 explorer. Cet environnement est fragile, il est affect\u00e9 par notre pr\u00e9sence et notre comportement.<\/p><p>Inspir\u00e9e par les recherches de l\u2019entreprise sherbrookoise Imeka qui portent sur l\u2019eau libre comme biomarqueur de la neuroinflammation, sur la perte axonale et sur la d\u00e9my\u00e9linisation, M\u00e9andres nous fait avancer dans l\u2019\u00e2ge du cerveau avec une interpr\u00e9tation po\u00e9tique.<\/p><p>De la collaboration entre l\u2019artiste St\u00e9phanie Morissette et l\u2019autrice Pattie O\u2019Green ont \u00e9merg\u00e9 24 fragments visuels et po\u00e9tiques qui sont d\u00e9voil\u00e9s ponctuellement sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux et qui s\u2019ajoutent au fil des jours dans l\u2019\u0153uvre web pour nous plonger dans l\u2019univers immersif et contemplatif cr\u00e9\u00e9 d\u2019abord pour la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 virtuelle. Cette exp\u00e9rience photographique, sonore et po\u00e9tique a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 avec le designer interactif Yannick Gu\u00e9guen.<\/p><p>Cr\u00e9e sp\u00e9cifiquement pour le projet web, la po\u00e9sie de Pattie O\u2019Green prend le point de vue de la lumi\u00e8re pour porter une r\u00e9flexion sur ses diff\u00e9rents r\u00f4les dans l\u2019\u0153uvre et dans la vie. \u00c9clairer peut vouloir dire ouvrir un espace ou, au contraire, le cerner. \u00c9clairer peut permettre de mieux voir quelque chose, mais cela peut aussi cr\u00e9er de l\u2019aveuglement. En explorant cette polys\u00e9mie, les textes de l\u2019autrice soulignent et interrogent la place de la lumi\u00e8re dans l\u2019\u0153uvre de St\u00e9phanie Morissette, sans cesse red\u00e9finie au fil de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience.<\/p><p>Le projet original est n\u00e9 de la collaboration avec la compagnie en imagerie c\u00e9r\u00e9brale Imeka, le centre en art actuel Sporobole et TOPO, il a un environnement narratif. Elle y raconte ou revisite un th\u00e8me en adoptant diff\u00e9rents points de vue. Son travail porte sur le comportement humain \u00e0 travers l\u2019histoire et sur les conflits li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation des technologies autant dans notre quotidien que dans la sph\u00e8re g\u00e9opolitique. L\u2019artiste s\u2019int\u00e9resse aussi \u00e0 l\u2019impact des technologies sur la nature et \u00e0 la psychologie des diff\u00e9rents acteurs qui en font usage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Sur le plan formel, ses installations se composent autant de papier, de moteurs, de dessins, de photos que d\u2019animations et de vid\u00e9os. Cette approche hybride cherche \u00e0 transcender les m\u00e9diums eux-m\u00eames. L\u2019introduction du volume et du mouvement dans ses \u0153uvres bidimensionnelles conf\u00e8re \u00e0 son travail un aspect \u00e0 la fois s\u00e9riel et s\u00e9quentiel qui se rapproche du cin\u00e9ma et de la bande dessin\u00e9e. Son esth\u00e9tique \u2013 qui semble na\u00efve de prime abord, mais teint\u00e9e d\u2019humour noir \u2013 lui permet de traiter des sujets troublants.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>St\u00e9phanie Morissette vit et travaille \u00e0 Sherbrooke. Elle a remport\u00e9 en 2017, le Prix du Conseil des arts du Qu\u00e9bec \u2013 \u0152uvre de l\u2019ann\u00e9e en Estrie, pour son exposition L\u2019inqui\u00e8te for\u00eat.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ses \u0153uvres papier et vid\u00e9o ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es en Allemagne, en Angleterre, en Belgique, au Canada, en Chine, en Espagne, aux \u00c9tats-Unis, en Finlande, en Islande, en Pologne, en Syrie, \u00e0 Taiwan et en Turquie et ce, dans le cadre d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements d\u2019envergure tels que Les Rencontres Traverse Vid\u00e9o \u00e0 Toulouse (2019), Les Rendez-Vous du Cin\u00e9ma Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois (2018), l\u2019International Symposium of Electronic Arts (ISEA) \u00e0 Hong Kong (2016), le Women Make Waves Film and Video Festival \u00e0 Ta\u00efwan (2011), ainsi que la 10e Biennale internationale d\u2019art contemporain d\u2019Istanbul (2007).
